Credit Analyst – Shelby
Shelby State Bank is now accepting applications for a fulltime credit analyst in its Shelby location. The job responsibilities include analyzing all types of credit information pertaining to diversified types of loans, analyzing and spreading financial statements and related materials, preparing summaries, presenting facts, and offering opinions concerning credit worthiness to loan officers. Additional duties include preparing commercial and residential property evaluations and providing loan documentation review for commercial, real estate, and installment loans. Qualifications include a four-year college degree with a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, computers, math, or accounting preferred.  The job requires a high level of analytical ability, a good knowledge of commercial and consumer credit loans, principles, policies & practices, and general knowledge of financial statement analysis.  Good verbal & written communication skills are required.  Must have excellent computer skills and excellent knowledge of spreadsheets and other computer programs.  Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under possible stressful situations is required.  Problem solving abilities and the ability to handle multiple tasks is required.

Full-Time Teller – Whitehall
Shelby State Bank is now accepting applications for a full-time teller in its Whitehall Branch. The job responsibilities include recording and processing saving and checking account and loan transactions with accuracy and speed.  Duties include verifying a cash drawer, maintaining and safeguarding cash balances within security guidelines, answering phones, and related clerical duties. Qualified candidates will possess excellent communication abilities and the ability to maintain positive relationships with others, perform under pressure, and assist with and solve routine problems. Good math skills and experience with a typewriter, calculator, and computer are required.

Lobby Supervisor – Whitehall Branch
Shelby State Bank is now accepting applications for a full-time lobby supervisor for its Whitehall Branch. The job duties will include working with the Branch Manager to manage the staff, facilities, and activities for the office. A thorough understanding of the bank’s products and services will be required along with the ability to deliver professional and courteous communication with current and potential customers, employees, referral sources, and management. Branch Manager – Manistee Branch
Shelby State Bank is now accepting applications for a Branch Manager to oversee its Manistee Branch. The job duties will include managing the branch staff, facilities, and activities. A thorough understanding of the bank’s products and services will be required along with the ability to deliver professional and courteous communication with current and potential customers, employees, referral sources, and management. Additional requirements will include assisting branch staff in day-to-day activities, participating in regular meetings, and generating mortgage and consumer loans in the Manistee market. Previous management and/or lending experience is preferred.

Mortgage Loan Originator – Ludington/Manistee 
Shelby State Bank is now accepting applications for a Mortgage Loan Originator to cover its Ludington and Manistee markets. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of secondary market and in-house mortgage products and services. They will develop and maintain a referral network of realtors, builders, accountants, associations, individuals, etc. The job responsibilities will include exhibiting a working knowledge of applicable policies and procedures including but not limited to internal and external compliance requirements, investor guidelines, state and federal regulations and guidelines, etc. Additionally the Mortgage Loan Originator will assist the processing team regarding process updates, turnaround times, information gathering, etc. Responsibilities will include managing loan files through closing as well as participating in necessary meeting including weekly staff meetings, periodical department or team meetings. Requirements include: a high school diploma or GED, strong time management and organizational skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to be self-motivated with minimal supervision while remaining a team player.  Experience with mortgage programs (FHLBI, Freddie Mac, portfolio, RD, VA, FHA, MSHDA) is preferred.  Licensure under the NMLS will be required. A Bachelor’s degree and experience using MortgageBot or Byte is also preferred.

Loan Processor – Shelby
Shelby State Bank is now accepting applications for a full-time loan processor in its Shelby location.  This position will include a variety of duties to provide customer service and prepare loan closings on a variety of loan programs. Under general supervision, but in compliance with established policies and procedures, you will be working with Lenders, Branch Managers, Title Companies, Realtors and Customers.  You will be gathering information, inputting and balancing loan figures, printing closing document packages and delivering to Lenders and/or Title Companies.   Knowledge of Government Regulations, industry procedures and a variety of loan programs is preferred. Previous four year college degree in finance or equivalent banking and/or loan processing experience is preferred.  This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and maintain positive relationships with others. Good verbal & written communication skills are required.  Must have good computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheets and other computer programs.  Problem solving abilities and the ability to handle multiple tasks is required.
